In my 9th grade class, alot of our discussions were based upon Joseph Campbell's pattern of the archetypal hero. We watched a video. We took notes. We related them to epics such as The Odyssey and Beowulf. We even related the pattern to Star Wars. But one thing wasn't always clear. What exactly IS Campbell's pattern?
